Jazz Singer Christmas Playlist
49 Tracks | Play Length: 2hrs 07min
When it comes to Christmas songs, there’s a few different generations that think of the great early 20th century standards. Some think of these tracks because they remember the singers, some remember from hearing them in television Christmas specials, and others recall hearing them in re-reuns of those same Christmas specials. No matter where you heard them, they always call to mind classic images of Christmas– and that’s what this playlist aims to do.
Classic Vocalists Sing Christmas Songs
What more could you want? There’s the all-time king of Christmas carols– Bing Crosby. There’s Burl Ives who, if you don’t know the name, you’ll know the voice from the familiar Christmas television specials that feature his songs (and narration). There’s also tracks from Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Peggy Lee, and more. Each track calls to mind snowy walks and sitting in front of a tree decked in lights.
While much of this is the type of music you’re likely to hear in shopping malls and the like, there are a few tracks tossed in that are a little less common. For example, Judy Garland singing “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” evokes visions of Christmas around the record player and black-and-white movies.
Give it a listen and enjoy the classic sounds of the holidays.
